水名。【說文】水出牂牁故且蘭，東北入江。【山海經】沅水出象郡鐔城西。【註】象郡，今日南也。【尚書·日記】楚中九江，五曰沅江，出沅州西蠻界。【水經】沅水出牂牁且蘭縣，爲旁溝水，又東至鐔城縣爲沅。【楚辭·九歌】沅有芷。
